IST wins best innovative product award
03/12/2009 - IST wins best innovative product award
Aldridge based Integrated Systems Technology Limited (ISTL) specialises in innovative electronic lighting products and optical systems and has this year beat off stiff competition to be recognised as joint winner in the Best Innovative Product category for the ICT Excellence Awards.
The fast-growing and successful company, which currently employs more than 6 people at its head office with plans to double team size over the next 12 – 18 months, won the award for a novel low carbon technology that can be used to retrofit lighting applications with dimmable LEDs that can save up to seven times the electricity used by standard light bulbs.
The judges selected ISTL for its digital dimmer driver product that was conceived, designed and tested solely in the West Midlands and represents the first affordable product of its kind to be released in the market. The technology has enabled the replacement of inefficient lighting with low carbon equivalents without the need to change power infrastructure or wiring within the home or office. The driver utilises world-class digital technologies to ensure efficiency is above 85% (up to 10% better than equivalent systems) and enables the LED lighting products to work with advanced building management system networks. The digital dimmer driver has already exceeded 4,000 units within its first full month of sales and has been exported to Europe, Asia and North America.
